Publisher’s Perspective
Welcome to the final edition of the Arkansas 811 Magazine. It has been our privilege to connect with stakeholders in Arkansas to promote safe digging in my home state. It shouldn’t be that difficult to bring people together to discuss best practices or even next practices when it comes to keeping our communities safe or protecting our underground infrastructure, but often it is. Of course, the reasons range from personal to professional, but the end result is the same. No matter the reason, damage prevention is the loser.
While this is the final printing of the Arkansas 811 Magazine, as a recipient
of this publication, you will receive a new look magazine quarterly
beginning in March 2025, unless you opt out. The new publication
is called the Global 811 Magazine and will bring national and international topics to you. It is supported by the advertisers and utility companies you’ll see in the magazine and by 811 Centers across the country, specifically AL811, MS811, LA811, TN811, TX811 and WV811. You’ll also have a chance to learn what each of these States are doing as it relates to legislative changes and damage prevention.
Time will tell how valuable the effort really is but there seems to be an obvious need for both information and inspiration to take us to the next level.
We are always interested in feedback from you. Whether it be an idea for an article or just a line to let us know how we can improve, email us at publisher@811magazines.com and let us know what you’re thinking.
Our longtime website, www.aligningchange.com is still active, but soon will be transitioned to our new site at www.actsnowinc.com. There you can learn more about what’s going on at ACTS and many of the new products and services we now provide. January 2025 begins our Summit season. The Louisiana Damage Prevention Summit will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Lafayette, LA on January 28 – 30, 2025. The exhibit hall is already overflowing and there will be between 300 – 400 damage prevention professionals in attendance. We’d be elated to see you there!
The Arkansas 811 Magazine Team sincerely thanks the Arkansas supporters of our efforts in the past and as we transition into a new look, we hope to forge new and lasting relationships with you.
Be safe, Merry Christmas and enjoy the Holiday season with your family!
